Posted On May 6, 2017
The wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, will on Saturday, May 6, 2017, present certificates to over 1,000 women graduates of her skill acquisition programme in Kano. She will also flag-off the second batch immediate thereafter.
The event will hold at Coronation Hall, Government House Kano.
The first batch of the women trainees numbering 1000, rounded up their one month training on May 5, specializing in fashion design, interior decoration, events management, and catering. Others learnt spice mixing, leatherwork as well as the production of cosmetics and household cleaning products
The programme, which plans to train 2200 women to acquire different skills in the state, was organised by Future Assured, a project of the Wife of the President, randomly selecting beneficiaries from Kano’s 44 Local Government Areas of the State.
Wife of the president embarked on the training programme with the aim of assisting and engaging less privileged families, thereby reducing the impact of poverty within the family.
Mrs. Buhari completed a similar empowerment programme in Lagos late last year.
