After 29 years in charge as the President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Mr. Isa Hayatou, has finally been ousted.
He has just been defeated by the President of Madagascar Football Association, Ahmad Ahmad, at the ongoing CAF elective Congress in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Ahmad, Hayatou’s main challenger garnered 34 votes to defeat the incumbent who polled 20 votes.
The newly elected CAF president is serving his third term as Madagascar FA Boss. He had also served as Sports Minister of his country.
Nigeria’s FA Boss Amaju Pinnick is contesting a seat on the CAF executive committee.
He is challenging the incumbent, Benin Republic’s Anjorin to represent Zone B.
