Adamawa Guber: Ribadu Obtains PDP Nomination Form
A former presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to run for the office of Governor of Adamawa State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The forms were picked on his behalf at the PDP national headquarters, Abuja, by one of his associates, Hamidu Mahmud.
The former EFCC boss formally joined the PDP on Saturday following pressures from the leadership of the PDP to have him fly the parties flag in the bye election to elect the successor of Murtala Nyako who was impeached by the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed the governorship election for October 11.
Obtaining the party’s nomination form is just one of the hurdles Ribadu will have to contend with in his quest to become the next governor of Adamawa state, as he will have to square up,with other candidates the acting governor, Umaru Fintiri, former special adviser to the president on political matters, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, Awwal Tukur, son to the former National Chairman of the PDP, Bamanga Tukur amongst other.
