Adamawa Guber: Acting Governor Umaru Fintiri Wins PDP Primary
The acting Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, has won the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to enable him fly the party’s flag in the October 11 Governorship election in Adamawa State.
The primary election which commenced on Saturday and delved into the early hours of Sunday saw Fintiri securing 624 votes to defeat his closest rival, former Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education (UBEC), Dr. Ahmed Modibbo, scored 197 votes.
Former military administrator of Lagos State, Brig-General Buba Marwa, came a distant third with 54 votes, while Umar Ardo and Jerry Kumdisi scored 9 and 4 votes respectively.
With the PDP primary election adjudged to be free and fair successfully concluded, Finitir will now face the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expected to emerge on Sunday.
