6.8m Nigerians Benefit From Social Investment Programme, Says Presidency
The Presidency has announced that no fewer than 6.8 million Nigerians out of the projected 10 million have benefited from the National Social Investment Programme.
This is contained in a release issued by Mr Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President.
According to him the figure represents nearly 70 per cent success rate in the implementation of the programme.
He added that besides the 6.8 million direct beneficiaries, 1.75 million persons comprising cooks, farmers, Poor and Vulnerable Household members, have also been impacted as secondary beneficiaries of the programme.
He noted that all the 36 states of the federation and the FCT are participating actively in at least one aspect of the programme.
