300 Gombe Pilgrims Departs King Abdulaziz Int’l Airport, Jeddah
About three hundred pilgrims from Gombe State have departed King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah to Gombe state.
The departure is coming more several hours to the earlier scheduled date for the departure of the pilgrims.
The National Hajj Commission had last week announced that Gombe pilgrims will be commencing the inaugural flight back to Nigeria on September 7.
But in a twist, FCT pilgrims took the lead with the departure of about 485 pilgrims at 10am Saudi Arabia time on September 6.
In just about twelve hours, the commission has transported about eight hundred Nigerian pilgrims from the shores of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria with more than half of that number already reunited with their families and friends.
If this tempo is maintained and other carriers lived upto their billings, without any let or hindrance, it is believed that the airlift would be concluded before the expected finishing date of fifth of October.
