2019: Nigerians Are Looking Up To PDP, Says Wike
Ahead of the 2019 presidential elections, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said Nigerians are eager ready to have the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) win the presidential seat as the country is generally tired of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government propaganda.
Wike said this in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital, while on a visit to the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
According to him, the APC-led federal government is yet to fulfill one of the many promises made but what they sell to the citizens is “fighting corruption.”
His words: “Are we really fighting corruption or we are fighting against some people who are perceived to be openness and determined not to join them?
“So many promises were made, not one has been fulfilled. Everyday what they have to sell is corruption there is no other statement. Corruption from day one they came on board till the day they are leaving. What have we achieved? Nigerians are tired and PDP as a party is tired.”
Commenting on the party’s readiness to win the forthcoming general elections, Wike stressed that the PDP governors are working and they remain indivisible. He mentioned that the unity of PDP governors has become a threat to the ruling APC and doing everything humanly possible to create division among them
“They are doing everything humanly possible to see that there is disunity among the PDP governors. But we have realized that we must work together because the country today is looking up to PDP and we must do everything possible to make the party to be stronger.
“It’s not by propaganda. No amount of blackmail will make the governors to shy away from taking PDP to the level that Nigerians want it. We are going to work together to make PDP victorious in 2019,” Wike said.
