2019: Monarch Advises Politicians Against Heating Up Polity
A traditional ruler, the Emir of Lapai, Alhaji Umar Tafida Bago III, has appealed to politicians not to over heat the polity and avoid campaign of calumny as they prepare for the 2019 general elections.
The monarch stated this while receiving the Niger South Senatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), senatorial candidate for Zone A in Niger State, Alhaji Muhammad Bima Enagi, at his palace.
The Emir, further enjoined political office holders to always fulfill their campaign promises to ensure growth especially at the grass roots.
Alhaji Bima, in his address, noted that constant engagements between legislators and their constituents will deepen democracy.
According to him, by involving the constituents in decision making, lawmakers would be able to impact more on the lives of the people.
The Niger South Senatorial candidate also assured the Monarch that priority would be given to education and skills acquisition to discourage youths from thuggery and other social vices.
