The National working committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Adamawa State, has unanimously adopted the indirect mode of election for its primaries. The resolution was reached during the party’s stakeholders meeting at the Government house in Yola.
The executives of the APC in Adamawa State said their decision to adopt the indirect mode of election is as a result of security challenges in the state. The stakeholders restated that the indirect mode is the answer to free and fair election in Adamawa State.
In his address the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha assured that the APC is stronger than ever. Mustapha urged Nigerians to avoid situations that will stir insecurity
The issue of fake card membership was cited as one of the reasons for the adoption of indirect primaries.
Current and former members of National and State Assemblies, members of board of trustees, party Chairmen, Secretaries and State party Executives took turns to support the motion to adopt the indirect mode of election.
The meeting ended with signature attestation to support the indirect mode of election for Adamawa State.
