2015: We’ll Put Pressure On Buhari To Contest – Aliyu
Former Minority Leader in the House of Representatives and acting chairman of Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, in Katsina State, Hon. Faruk Adamu Aliyu, has declared that northerners would force former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to contest the Presidency again in 2015.
Aliyu who was speaking as ‘Guest of the Week’ on a Kaduna-based radio, ‘Liberty FM’ noted that though Buhari could decline to contest the next presidential election, his supporters would pressure him to the extent of making him change his mind.
Aliyu, former gubernatorial candidate of the party in Katsina state, averred that at the moment, no one has the qualities of Buhari “to rescue the nation.” According to him, “we wanted an alliance or merger because of the Presidency, because ACN does not need CPC or ANPP to win gubernatorial election in the South-West of the country; they already have their governors.
Then who among the conglomerate of the APC likely presidential materials such as (former Governor Bola) Tinubu, Buhari or (former Kano Governor Ibrahim) Shekarau, can garner sympathy of followers in Nigeria? I don’t think there is anyone like him (Buhari).
I can tell you that when the time comes, Buhari shall put himself up for the president of this country. He did not want it but we will force him,” he affirmed.
