2015: Nigeria Army, Navy and Police Campaign For Jonathan As Female Officers Join Mass Rally In Abuja (PHOTOS)
The Nigeria Army, Navy and Police today publicly and illegally campaigned for President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2015 general elections as female officers from the three key security and defence forces participated in a mass rally organized by the National Council for Women Society (NCWS) which acted as a front for Nigeria’s first lady, the main sponsor of the political event at Eagle Square in Abuja.
The officers joined in a march past as part of activities to grace the occasion but the action caught many people unawares, as it is unheard-of for members of the country’s Armed Forces to be part of such a political jamboree. The rally which was dubbed a “peace rally” made little or no mention about the various crisis bedevilling Nigeria, instead it became a campaign ground for series of groups paid for by the first lady to declare support for mr. jonathan and his political ambition in 2015.
The participation of the nation’s armed forces in the event in which they blatantly expressed support for the incumbent President, with the elections over one and a half years away, may be evidence to the whole world that the 2015 Nigeria general elections may be no more than a charade if the security agencies who are supposed to provide unbiased security for it are revealed to be political supporters of Mr. Jonathan.
